Front Upper Strut Braces: Custom Fabricated: $125 Order Now!

Post by St6fan »

$125.00

Let me know who wants them.

The fabricator has made braces for hotrods and will use industry-standard steel tubing, welds and plating for strut-brace applications.

Price is for front upper and, if it comes in lower than that, will cover a portion of shipping. As for the price, that's not exactly what he quotes and he ummed and ahhed a bit as he didn't exactly know but it will be inside $5/10 either way.

I'll be getting mice done later this week, though it would be swell if I had other orders to swing his way. I might even have some swanky vinyl decals made up to add that cool touch! :)

I'm interested in a brace for the front shock towers.

Rear upper strut brace? Not really sure what you are thinking about since the t4wd has shocks in the back.

Semantics aside, I'm sure you understand I mean bracing between the top of the rear shocks under the little covers in the trunk, right? ;)

Perhaps I should look into anti-roll bars and subframe locking options too?

If we could find a solution to stiffen up the car - a lot - for a few hundred per kit, that would be fab!

especially since I am lowering the car, the more bracing I have the better! I'm very interested!

Lowering how? I'm interested in coilovers if you can find them - or anything else you've found out.

I'll get a quote tomorrow/Tuesday.

I might be interested in the front strut brace.

DO not bother with a rear one. There is NO benefit to putting a brace between the tops of the rear dampers (shock absorbers). The rear axle is braced directly through the frame off the 4 bar trailing links, and the Panhard rod (or lateral link). Get the RWD corolla trailing links and panhard rod set, it will fit and make the rear much stiffer. You can also get the rear anti sway bar kit for the same car, it will fit on the Tercel4wd.

There are coil over shocks available for the rear, the same ones that fit the RWD corolla (including the GTS corolla) will fit. I saw a set on Craig's list the other day for "only" $1200. A number of other model front struts can be made to work, including the rear struts for the first gen MR2 rears (same travel as the Tercel fronts!). I am consider putting a set in mine, but the spring rate is almost 3 times that of the Tercel! I am considering using just the struts and not the springs.

Also something interesting, the front strut top mount (with the bearing in it) from first gen MR2 (AW11), will also work in the front of the Tercel. Same bolt pattern, drops it about an inch, but much stiffer and stronger. That means there are kits for the strut top that are fully adjustable that will also work in the Tercel.

I will - but - after the first of the year; I've spent too much this year, what with the Daisys, tires, propeller shaft, the Bosal muffler/pipe and front pipe, and rear bearings, bushings, and KYBs.

Okay, not a problem.

Just email me: stefan@eurodroid.com with order details. You'll have to send me a cheque - though I can provide you with ID and you can even call my bank to verify I'm a real non-scamming type person and of course you can call me at home/cell/whatever.

So, thus far we have two orders. Anyone else (Petros?) let me know - you could pick it, saving on shipping and we could kick tyres! :P

This fabricator will also make *anything* else. Sway bars, etc... If there's anything the aftermarket doesn't cater for that can be made, he'll make it. :)
