wood grain vinyl

Post by dlb »

I found an ad for a 3rd gen tercel where the owner had put a vinyl sticker of wood grain over one of the dash trim pieces, and I love the look. Here it is:

I asked about it and he said he bought the vinyl off Amazon for $10. Now I'm considering doing it on my Corolla.

Here's the ad, there are some great pics of his car on it. He clearly loves that thing. It's nice to see.

Reading "wood grain" and "vinyl" in the same sentence I was expecting to be disgusted, but I will say that looks quite nice!

my wife's lexus RX300 has this treatment on the dash panel of almost exactly the same dash as the Toyota HIghlander. Mechanically the Highlander and the RX300 are identical, but with a more sleek body and leather seats, plus the fake wood trim.

Just think, add fake wood grain to the same plastic panel and you get a Lexus dash board.
