Looks like a Speedostat unit made by Precision controls and sold by Montgomery Wards. I installed a bunch of 'em back in the day.
if it aint there, there's a good chance it won't break!

85 SR5 Blue

As I have perused the internet at lunch time, I feel the pictures are more similar to an older Dana speed control system I found on ebay.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-DANA-C ... 3631165468

Here is a pic of the controller in the background (which I believe is 4 or less wires) before I removed it from the car.
I guess I just need to carefully remove all related parts and sell as-is, I would just like to be able to point to a likely installation manual, etc.

Oddly, one of my cars has that same cruise control switch on the column that you have in the picture but I believe it was a replacement for the original "Specific Cruise Systems, Inc" control switch that must have gone bad because I also found the original in the car. I wonder if it was just kind of a generic cruise control switch?

Although this isn't the same cruise control that you have, I thought I'd share some interesting original artifacts I found with one of my cars from its dealer installed cruise control.
