WTB: trans shifter parts

Post by ftpiercecracker1 »

Bits and pieces in the shifter column have made the stalk very sloppy and make finding 1st gear difficult.

Any help finding these parts or something thay will work is appreciated.

33555-16030 dust boot
33548-16010 bushing
33505-16010 bushing/o-ring thing
Im going to use RTV for gasket material.

Or if you know of parts from another vehicle that interchange.

I found this on ebay.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/fulcrum-ball-b ... SwEYBaUNwh

It contains every part i need, but its not specifically for a tercel. I thought maybe it was worth a shot, since a lot of toyota parts are used across multiple vehicles.

Have you called your Toyota dealership? I have everything but the boot on order though my local dealership because it's NLA.

Sadly my local dealership is not able to get any of the mentioned parts.

No luck on ebay either. Every online auto parts store ive checked lists all of them as discontinued and/or NLA.

Welcome to the world of obscure, obsolete Japanese cars! You can probably adapt something to work from another similar model.

A near-perfect aftermarket replacement for the rubber dust boot is available on Amazon.com at the following URL:

I've used these on a couple different occasions, when I was doing a clutch job on my T4WD's, and have been very happy with the fit, the quality of the rubber, etc.

This is for the inner boot that attaches directly to the transmission, not the body-mounted rubber boot, correct?

Pics of how you secured it?

yes, it's the inner boot

don't have any installation pics... the rubber boot simply stretch-fits around the circular projection on the top of the tranny where the shift lever goes

Excellent! you have a brand and part number for that?

I was thinking of using a large section of inner tube with zip ties at both ends.
