Inexpensive AAP diaphragms (new)

Post by waynehoc »

Need to change the leaking AAP diaphragm in my '87 wagon and in searching have discovered that the same diaphragm is also used in some Corolla carbs for a different function.
Just bought two diaphragms from Rockauto (cheapest overall cost if shipping to Canada - shipping was under $8 for the two pieces to ship to Canada)

This eBay seller has a good price if you're shipping to USA

when you need one you can not wait, but sometimes they have whole carb rebuild kits on close out (that includes the AAP, and a lot of other parts) for $9-12.

Just keep your eyes open for them. many tune up parts show up at randome like that, including TVSV, good thermostats, and even vac advance diaphrams for the distributor. I have a whole bunch of spares and engine parts I bought on close out. I had two air filters I forgot I had, bought them for $1.99 each, but I bought a new one at local autoparts store for $5.99 when I had two new ones in my garage (which of course I found exactly one week after I bought the one from the auto parts store).

I have to have my spared organized better. The air filters, along with several oil filters and a few other parts were in a box from Rockauto I had not even opened, but just shoved in the garage in a hurry when it came last October. I will use the parts eventually.
