ISO: Trans Mount

Post by Tman312 »

Looking for a new or good condition manual 4wd transmission rubber mount

The only place I can find the correct part is Autozone, but they have since discontinued it.

Rockauto, Oreillys, etc claim they have it but it is an Auto mount.

OEM Part numbers appreciated too

part # 12371-15070 ... No Longer Available (NLA) from any U.S. source, including all Toyota dealers, as far as can be determined

here's a recent relevant thread with good info:

Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.

I likely have several of these rear mounts kicking around in a box somewhere, but they would be well used.

unless your old one is completely trashed, there is a fix I thought of for them if they have just sagged. clean it thoroughly, and and perhaps rough up the void places good with a small wire brush between the rubber mount. Than use wood wedges to get it back to the approx original position, install either RTV or polyurethane adhesive to fill in the void places between the rubber part of the mount. this should stiffen and strengthen the rear mount.

Its so bad that my trans will move completely if I let the clutch out anybit too fast. Usually resulting in a clunk.

jimcrazy - I'll have to look into that, thanks for the info!
