Good to hear Lowbuck, good luck with your repairs.

before you use the caustic chemicals on the broken bolt, often you can coax it out with ATF (auto trans fluid, the best penetrating oil invented). Soak it over night, or longer with ATF, use a small chisel and tap the end around to unscrew it. Usually this works well, fairly fast and easy. applying heat to the head side also helps, aluminum expands faster than steel, and applying heat to the head side will make it loosen its grip on the bolt. heat also helps the ATF penetrate deeper too.

I am familiar with different techniques for removing stuck bolts, and trust me, this one is in good. There isn't much sticking out of the block to work with, so the alum bath might just be my magic bullet.

Plus, I can feel like Jesse Pinkman.

I have gotten broken bolts out that were broken off below the surface using that technic. It it is really corrored and stuck, than chemical warfare may be the only way to win, but usually a broken bolt has the load off of it so it is just a matter of getting lubricated, a little heat, and than tap it around until it comes out. There is also a simple tool that works too if the broken bolt is large enough, called an "easyout" extractor. you drill a hole in the end of the broken bolt, insert the easyout, and than spin it out. they do not cost much.
