Just to remind you guys, this is on a 87 4wd. The biggest problem we have with it right now is transmission slippage. And with most cars, this can be fixed with a simple transmission fluid change. However, our transmission fluid has never been changed, and it's grey-black colored and broken down. So my dad and i are going to jack the car up, and drain the fluid out. I recently got a brand new bottle of trasmission fluid so it oughta do the trick. Hopefully the slippage stops!! I don't wanna hafta go searching for a new transmission or rebuilding this one! I'll keep you guys updated. Wish i had a better digital camera! <_<

We are also replacing the filter and gasket. Here's the link to the product we are going to use.

Only 10 bucks, not bad!

Not sure if the tercel 4wd automatic has a transmission oil cooler, but if it does, make sure you get all the crap oil out of it too. Also, you should consider buying Mobil1 Synthetic ATF if you are planning on using your automatic transmission for any period of time still. Synthetic can do amazing things to old transmissions.

the automatic does have a tranny cooler. The tranny has two hoses that come out/in of the tranny, and go into the radiator. Yes, the main engine radiator is shared with the tranny.

:D Took it to the toyota dealer, and they gave us a list of everything that needed to be done to it. They put in 3 quarts of oil and changed out the transmission fluid, so it runs pretty good now!!! But we need to replace the CV joint next week, that's why the front tires are losing their tread so fast. But we'll get all that fixed soon
