PNW 84 4wd Transmission needed!

Hello members! I drive my 84 SR5 wagon daily and am ready to throw some cash into him. I feel like my Trans might still have some life in it but at high speeds it vibrates around the stick and 4wd control stick pretty bad. Could this possibly be a bad transmission mount? But the first gear of my trans pops out sometimes with a pretty good slam when I take the clutch out and put pressure on it.

any number of things can cause that, from faulty/worn engine/trans mounts, to bad/sloppy worn trans main shaft bearings.

Make sure you are running on all four cylinders, that can cause vibration. mis-installed center driveshaft can also vibrate.

look for simple solutions first, than work your way to the more expensive issues that can cause it. Usually it is one of the easy/simple fixes. Before you do any major work on the trans, make sure you diagnose the problem before you try and fix it. or you will likely replace good parts and waste a lot of time trying to fix it by replacing parts until the problem goes away.
