Replacement Gas springs for hatch

Post by Folian »

Hi all,

If anyone is looking for replacement gas springs for the hatch and don't want to spend a fortune at Toyota, I have a tip!
I bought these and they are a direct fit with correct spring rate. (they have a larger diameter body and shaft but they do fit without problem, and the threading is right as well)

looks like a good deal. but the link says "does not ship to the United States", but than says located in Hong Kong, and "ships world wide"?

All of mine are original factory struts, and so far are holding up okay. but I do know they do eventually give up.

where are you located Folian?

^^^ Splat, that's an excellent price on that pair of rear hatch struts from Amazon... would be curious to hear if they do "hold up" over time :D

Pretty good for USD19+freight, considering those from ADV and AZ (and presumably other usual sources) range from USD46 to USD72 per pair!

My old ones couldn't handle the subzero temps. After T4 #1's falling hatch broke Grandad's old Fenwick fishing pole that had been through numerous trips, many with tough portages, I don't hesitate on lifts.

Glad they aren't priced like Lexus lifts! https://www.amazon.com/Lexus-68950-4901 ... B00KWDMF1M

Sorry for my late reply petros, I live in sweden. (And here things cost abit more than elsewhere i believe... 150USD each for the struts)

I bet that you can find the exact same item from several sellers around the globe.
I found them by searching for length/stroke/force.

So for future reference, these are the numbers:
Length:680-700mm
Stroke:300mm
Force:350N
