Transmission and Parts car for sale + more!

Post by Highlander »

My Rusty Rat Bastard has decided to not heat AT ALL, even after a heater core change, so I'm goin gto dispense with some of my parts (We still have 2 '85s though). The parts car needs to go away-early '83 SR5, good trans (I even have another in the garage) good engine, body is dissolving, no front grille or trim, some corner lights, no rear window, Blue interior (what there is of it), Inclinometer, I have a full DLX interior in grey, a green '85 driver's seat (good condition), No radiators, Extra sets of SR5 wheels (in white).
PM me for details or questions about what there is.

Mice nests in the heater ducts? But then again if you changed the heater core out you probably got most of that cleaned already...

Is this the beat up one that the hatch was half rusted through?

That's the one that won't heat (I'm going to continue to try on that one), the parts car was the one on the side of the garage without a rear window. All told, I've got 2 early (3.7:1, IIRC) 4WD trannys that are good, the one needs to be removed though.

Maybe it is clogged on the head output to the heater core, or your heater valve is plugged?

Heater valve is good- checked it, the feed and drain tubes are my only other possibility, I think.

Did you check the flap control cables for proper connection/operation? My '87 FWD had real low heat output when I bought it (think that was the main reason the PO was selling it.) Flushed the heater core (no real change) and started poking around with the controls. Turned out one of the blend door cables was disconnected (just below the blower resistor.) Re-connected it- heat's been REAL hot ever since. If only the other guy had known...
Just a thought- hope this helps.
if it aint there, there's a good chance it won't break!

a while back i rigged up a bench system using tercel water pump hooked up to electric motor , heater system and blower set up just like in car. used pressure canner for heat
one thing i learned right off was how difficult it is to get the water flowing
i assume its air bubbles but after numerous attempts i never did figure out what it takes to get the water going
eventually after doing numerous things the water would begin to flow
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.

Do you still have trannys for sale? I have an 86 auto im trying to replace, or possibly get everything to swap to a 6 spd.
