Radiator Needed Urgently!

Post by nessanater »

My radiator is busted, don't know exactly where, but it isn't a hose. So if anyone has a spare one sitting around, can you let me know? I'm located near Astoria, Oregon. Napa here is quoting $132 for one.
Also if anyone has the seal for where the cv axle goes into the transmission (if that exists), mine is leaking. Or if you know what that part is called, that would help too.
Thank you!

that seal is available from beck-arnley, search the archives for the correct part number. Also rock auto has them cheap. Make sure it has the dust shield/rib on them, some brands just give you a seal with matching inner and outter diameter. These will work but will likely wear out faster from sand and dust damage, the dust shield makes them hold up better.

$132 is not a bad price, I think O'Reily's and Autozone has them for a little less (usually special order). you might throw in a can of stop leak as a temp measure until you can find a good price on a replacement radiator. it will not harm the engine, and usually works good as a temp stop/gap repair.

the trans seal for the CV axle:

$132 is a fair price for a new rad, why not go for that?

If it is not leaking much try a good stop leak first!

Amazon has a radiator for $81, free shipping

Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.

Cause I told him I'd buy a double row radiator for our FWD wagon to see if it helps her nearly-overheating issues on the mountains, haha. I thought I bought the last one but after checking back for it via my orders list there's one left and the price went up a bit

the pictures show at least two different radiators, notice one has caps on the trans cooler line nipples, one does not, and one looks like all metal, and the other looks like aluminum core with plastic header tanks. still a decent price, usually you would get it faster to have a local autoparts store order it, but you will pay a bit more for it.

The second one (silver with plastic tanks) is the one we received, and it did have caps on the AT lines.
