THEY DO EXIST
After six plus years of searching for everything t4 in northern Nevada. I walk into pick&pull today there it is a 1988 t4 and yes the elusive cup holders do exist.

Of course, access to the radio is then limited, and then the same for a smoker...

Re: THEY DO EXIST
the automatic t4's have stock cupholders but the manuals do not. they get in the way of the shifter, unfortunately.

Odd it fits in my manual with room to spare for shifting. Unable to upload photo for some reason.

Re: THEY DO EXIST
I beleive the 2wd Trecles also have a cup holder. I took one of those pictured out of a 2wd Tercel seeing if I can adapt it to work in the 4wd one. the tunnel is smaller in the 2wd and that center console is taller. I do not recall that it was automatic trans or not. I still have the slide-out cup holder if anyone is interested.

Re: THEY DO EXIST
crazy, i'm definitely interested in pics. i remember taking a look at it once and it seemed like the shifter would hit the cup holder when it was pulled out. i think another member found that too. maybe you mounted yours differently so i'd like to see.Gottolovem wrote:Odd it fits in my manual with room to spare for shifting. i modded a cup holder to fit in my 4wd corolla by cutting the shelf in half, and drilling new holes in the metal frame that the shelf and holder mount in. it worked out really well. the 2wd corolla wagons have a different style of cup holder but it's flimsy and is prone to snapping so i used the other style that i found in a corolla GTS.

Re: THEY DO EXIST
don't think so, i had no problem posting those pics above. if your pics are hosted on flickr or photobucket, maybe make sure you're using the 'direct' code.
if you're uploading pics on to the forum's server, are the pics the right format? i would guess jpeg's are the preferred type.

Re: THEY DO EXIST
in all tracs, the stereo is up top in the center. much easier to fiddle with than in tercs.
gottolovem, that looks great. did you move the stereo down lower on the stock bracket, or did you have to swap the bracket along with the cup holder?
