Fresh Horses
Been a while since I checked in, thought I'd share. Terc II 3AC build pics. Ported/Polished and port matched head/intake/exhaust. New valve springs, re-grind cam from Delta-Cams (mild performance grind). Head shaved .040, engine bored .020 over (and fresh internals to go with it), balanced rotating assembly, fresh freeze plugs, and my machinist even managed to save my block heater.

Looking forward to the engine swap. I'll have a spare 6-speed and 3AC for sale soon.M_M

Re: Fresh Horses
Yes to the Weber, no to the header, but I will be installing larger diameter exhaust pipe, high flow cat, and muffler out the back. Also planning on an MSD 6A upgrade

Re: Fresh Horses
Nice work. All that port cleaning might get you a hp or two.

Re: Fresh Horses
I did all the head, intake, and exhaust work myself with a $60.00 kit from standard abrasives. It was $200 to have the head milled, pressure tested, re-surfaced (shaved) and valve surfaces re-ground. He threw in flow testing the head/intake/exhaust for free to verify no significant variance between flow rates on any of the cylinders. $40.00 for a set of new valve springs, $50.00 for a re-ground (street grind) cam from Delta Cams. The parts and labor for all the block and rotating assembly work came to $1,000.00 including balancing the rotating assembly, machining the fly wheel, wrist pins, all the engine gaskets, new oil pump, and a case of break-in Oil. The rest of it was just hours and hours and HOURS of scrubbing rust and goo off 26-ish year old Tercel bits, literally cleaning with q-tips and toothbrushes when I needed to. and re-finishing for assembly. I still have the engine compartment cleaning under way more pics to follow. This build wasn't intended to be a horsepower build. I use my Terc for a daily and a road trip rig, so I was going for efficiency and reliability, the things a well built/maintained T4WD excel at

Re: Fresh Horses
I use rattle-can stuff, a base coat of the rustoleum metal surface paint, all weather stuff, then a few coats (again rattle can) of a satin finish stuff I picked up at Napa.
