I did a NATIONWIDE SEARCH (almost) for the steering shaft and found that for the '83 wagon at least...the shaft (firewall to rack) for the PS and manual racks were the same ...as were the hatchbacks. If you need one...try for one from a PS car since it will have been used under less load...with manual steering, there are times when you really have to put the torque to it, causing these to wear out faster. Also one from a rust free area helps a lot.
