A Transmission Repair First
The late model Tercel 4wd transmission's have aluminium shift forks held in place with a small bolt. I have seen at least 7 trannies with the 3rd/4th shift fork bolt either half way out or all the way out lying on the bottom of the tranny. I have often wondered why the 1st/2nd shift fork bolt never does this? Today it happened. The tranny was stuck in second gear because the shift fork bolt threads were backed out all the way. It was just resting there, it did not fall out.
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.
