...there are no low rpm, high torque, cams for this engine..
Hogwash, send them to Delta Camshafts in Tacoma and get them reground http://www.deltacam.com/.

can the 4age cams be reground? I understand that it can not be done on the direct drive cams, or I was told that at one time from a cam grinder. typically you have to get new billet custom grinds for a performance grind for twin cam engines, this is usually really costly. I should check with Delta however.

I had spent a lot of time over at the 4age forum, and asked the collective about a low rpm, high torque cam shaft, no one there said there was anything available like that for the 4age. the market for that engine is high rpm/high output.

I would absolutely call Delta Cam, I'm sure they can help you find something, and their services are shockingly inexpensive for what is basically a custom-ground camshaft. I bought one from them for an off-road engine project that I never finished but the cam had it's torque peak around 2,000 RPM, as I recall, to make up for the lack of gearing.

My plan with my 4age swap is small small turbo set to 6lbs of boost to bring some torque into the low rpms

A blower might flow better at low RPMs with that engine as they are built to rev and may not have the exhaust gas volume at low engine speeds to spin up the turbo.

there is a super charger version of the 4age made for the MR2, that would be an easy swap if you already have it ready to take a 4age anyway. As stated, better for low end torque, and I suspect a more reliable installation.
