xirdneh,

It's been a while since I changed mine (did it before I installed my re-built 4A), but the axle diameter decreases after a certain distance. Any seal driven past the larger part of the axle would not have a surface to seal against, but I don't know if the diff housing allows that or not. Here is a pic of a knowledgeable fellow in overalls showing us the area in question :lol: .
