High idle after carburetor rebuild

Post by deadhead »

After rebuilding my carb my car idles at about 2k and if i back the idle screw off any further it dies, I assume it's a vacuum issue but I can't find the diagram online or in the fsm. Does anyone have a copy or know the page number in the fsm? Thanks!

Make sure the aft solenoid is working. They go bad once in a while. Make sure its getting juice when key is turned. "Engine" fuse is good on left fender fuse box.(it runs solenoids)
Thats what i would check first. Then look for vacuum leak.
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.

Sorry for the slow response, i assumed i'd get a notification if someone replied haha. That diagram is a lifesaver! I need to check tomorrow that it is the right one for my car but i know that i definitely do not have an "HIC valve" but i do have the hose going to it and the idle is inconsistent around 3k and dies occasionally if it's unplugged so i plugged it. I checked both the solenoids manually when i installed the carb and they click but I'll have to check that fuse tomorrow.
