finally got the engine back in the car, and running. runs great, lots of power. I hand to track down two coolant leaks once it was running. what a nuisance, one was a heater hose I forgot to tighten the clamp (easy fix), the other was the o-ring on the by pass tube (I reused the old one, with sealant on it, leaked anyway). I took off the coolant out let housing, cleaned it up, put lots of new form-a-gasket on it, reassembled...worked this time.
also discovered fuel leak on my fuel pump, made it hard to start because it was sucking air. I will put that in a separate thread since it is worth a separate discussion.
