Sr5 cluster feasibility?

Post by LowBuckCanuck »

Before you tell me, I did search both google and the forum, without much success.

Without further adieu,

What would be involved in installing a Sr5 cluster in a DLX? Is everything (tachometer, digital clock etc.) a simple plug in job or are additional parts needed?

Jenny's speedo drive cable is snapped, and if I have to dig into the dash, I figure I might as well upgrade.

Does anyone have a metric Sr5 dash with around 180000 kms on it sitting around? Wanna sell it?

DLX to SR5 cluster swap is strictly plug 'n play- only mod is to move the speedo cable to the other side of the pedal ass'y. I've swapped odo drums between speedos- no real big deal.
if it aint there, there's a good chance it won't break!
83 SR5 Silver/Blue (Snowmobile/work beater)-totaled but drivable
85 SR5 Blue
88 SR5 White (the 'good' one)-not anymore-totaled
87 fwd silver wagon a/t
87 4wd dx Cream (a/t- not anymore- now m/t)

I'm not trying to be dense, but what do the tach and clock plug into?

Is the speedo cable length the same between the DLX and Sr5?

Speedo cables are the same, clock and tach wiring is already in the DX harness- only part you'll need for the conversion is the SR5 cluster.
