Sucks, I just saw it on fecebook. I'll keep my eyes peeled down here in PDX/Salem where I run wrecker repos 5 nights a week.
Let me understand this, it has welded steel bumpers right?
The roof rack can be removed easily, but those bumpers are not easily removed.
It takes more fossil fuel resources to produce new vehicles than it would take to maintain and fuel any 70's or 80's vehicle for a million miles.

Total bummer. Hope you get it back promptly, and intact.

I can relate. Back in December 2010, my sharp-looking '87 SR5 Terk was stolen in Oakland, CA. It was found 6 weeks later, completely stripped, in an industrial area near West Oakland. During that time, I asked my insurance rep if she had any idea why my 23-year-old wagon might have been targeted, and she said that the 1983-88 T4WD's were in the top ten of older vehicles stolen... perhaps b/c of the unavailability of certain major replacement parts (e.g., transmissions, body parts, etc.) and the limited years of production.

Best wishes for a positive outcome, Synth.

took the battery, the seats, and a few items from inside. that is all the details I have right now. Tweekers running loose in Seattle, will steal anything they can make a buck to get another high.

Seats? Wow, like T4 seats can't be ID'd from a mile away..

Sounds like it could've been way worse. Apparently many car thieves are confounded be a manual trans. Hopefully it wasn't harmed.

Well the seats are easier to replace than the car!

Damn. Of all the cars to steal, why go for the 30+ year old econobox?

At least you got it back, albeit with a few less parts.
