Is a Tercel a collectible? Probably not.
I'm thinking most of us don't consider Tercels to be collectible. Although several out there do have more than one. Does that count?
Check out the Tercel mention in this article:

I consider Tercels to be consumable. I'm on my second!

I see them as kind of unique, fun and practical cars with excellent utility and good reliability, that is where their value is I think, not because they are rare and people want to collect them because they go up in value like an antique or has intrinsic value like silver or gold.
consider their non-4wd equivalent Tercel, they have almost no value except as cheap transportation.

Perhaps that does border on a sort of mental illness.

who knows, if the long forcasted collapse of civilization occurs, bartering old 4wd Tercels might mean you have a gold mine!
But I would not hold my breath, if history is any kind of an indicator, all of the forecast dooms days have not happened. But it is always good to be prepared, just in case, eh?

Some more collectible than others. Like most things vintage, provenance and documentation of an unmolested original specimen would be more likely to hold value in the collector market.

Collectable? WELL YEAH because the crusher crushed far too many of these guys and I'd hate to see another idiot dispose of theirs only to cowardly buy a new car instead! Long live the T4WD!

most of the new cars are not worth saving, they are disposable. many do not even have a trans oil change interval, you are supposed to throw the car away before it needs to have the trans oil changed.

Funny. I had someone call mine an apocalyptic car. As in cockroaches and T4's will be among the few survivors..Petros wrote: ↑Wed Sep 21, 2016 2:27 pm who knows, if the long forcasted collapse of civilization occurs, bartering old 4wd Tercels might mean you have a gold mine!
