Tercel Wagon parts cheap Northwest WA

Post by sdoan »

Sold my other Tercel so these are extra to me now.

Aisin carb and manifold with lots of ancillary parts:
DSCN2605.JPG
Light blue hood with a few minor dents.
DSCN2609.JPG
Rear hatch with repairable dent. It never leaked so I never fixed it better, but the UV light did damage the paint so some surface rust that I killed with Ospho - which is why is looks kinda messy.

The reason I have an extra hood and hatch is that I used the money from the other car to get a slightly better hood and back hatch for the one I kept. They are from this car:

Price is right $10 each, but you have to take all 3 - I'm trying to make some room! I can even help deliver if you are close to Bellingham. I have some other parts that I would consider selling too.

I get to Bellingham several times a month, I might be interested but I want to see them.

Can that damage rear hatch be fixed? How did that happen?

I have a project car that color that has a sort of good rear hatch, but it was crunched in the past, and a body shop put bondo on it too thick, so it all painted to match, but the too thick bondo is cracking and chipping off. I was not sure how to fix it, might be easier to just replace the rear hatch all together. With that one would not even need paint (except where that damage is).

@ 4wdEconobox - you want a carb?
I have the one I took off when I installed the Weber back in 2008. It was a rebuilt from National Carb back in '07 ($170). It ran fine, but the probs were in the deteriorated emissions system. It is complete, save for the bell crank, which I used when adapting the Weber.
$20 plus USPS postage from St. Louis to Talledega.
Let me know if you need anything else - I also have a rebuild kit which I bought ($11 then) for the OE carb back in '05. I think it is complete, save for a couple of mounting gaskets. I think the only other item I used was the AP diaphragm. I could lay out the parts (or the carb) and take a pix if you want.
PM me.

Hey Petros,

The dent is repairable with bondo and paint. If you have a slide-hammer spotwelder (spitznagle?) you could do a great job. I bought the car with the dent - looks like maybe a tree branch, but apparently didn't break the rear window. I can take some better photos if you want.

If you're up in Bellingham (or close) you are welcome to come look.

I've thought of a trade - need a rear defroster glass that mostly works. Do you have an extra?

yes, I have an extra rear glass. I bought it as a spare so I do not know the condition of the defroster, but it was supposed to be good. Usually a careful inspection of the heating element will tell you it is good.

those supposedly can be repaired, typically a scratch across the element causes a break, there is a kit with conductive glue that you paint across the break to restore the defroster function. never tried it, but I have heard it is available.

If you'd do a trade I'll deliver the parts if you're not too far away.

notice the warning on the defogger repair kit:

"may affect the male reproduction system".

I wonder if they knew Tercel drivers might be using it.

Now that you it mention Tom, It may also have affects on your intellectual capacity....of course that may be hard to separate from the effects of your age, as well as the detrimental effects from your other recreational activities. ;-)

Me, I am trying to maintain what little capacity I have left, so I try and stay away from such known risks. Though at 50 cents, I would have a hard time resisting the temptation...

So, I checked out everything under my car today, and found two issues.. My passenger side output shaft seal is leaking a good bit, I've ordered new seals and while I was underneath I topped up my transmission fluid. I also noticed that my drivers side cv axle is really loose inside the transmission.... As in it pulls out very easily, at least a half inch or so, and with a tiny amount of force, I would imagine I can pull it completely out... Is that normal? Because it doesn't sound like it to me.... It looks to be the original axle.

Edit: Whoops, I was looking at two different post and ended up posting in the wrong one..... Sorry, maybe I'll be able to post on the right one this time.... haha
