I have one of those mini air compressors that plugs into the cigarette lighter but I also have air shocks on the rear that I can use the compressor to raise the car by 10cm or so. Heres my car going up a sandy track (video doesn't really show the incline) in Australia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dz3JHXYmXuA with the shocks raised up and the tyres aired down it made it easy.
My tercel was better in the sand than the corolla. I didn't use extra low as I found it spun the tyres to much and dug in.

I'm running 185/70/14 on vw quantum syncro snowflake rims, 38 mm offset. No rubbing of any kind. also with new front springs and shocks i have almost 3 inches of clearance from top of tire to lower part at top of fender. I need knew tires and i found these. only 14 inch all terrain i found minus generals grabber thats 27 inches tall.
