The Most ASININE eBay Pricing I Have Ever Seen...

Post by ARCHINSTL »

For 2WD Wagon parts:
How about $200 for an admittedly faded tail light - how about (well, you read them).

Granted that he states "OBO," but...
I am tempted to put in a bid of 50 cents for the unit just to see his reaction.

In his defense there's some tercel parts in there that are super hard to find.

I don't know, I'd definitely pay $200 for a single mud flap. I don't know what the problem here is. The distributor vacuum advance diaphragm for only $375 ("reduced" from $500) is also an amazing deal. Even with our plummeting dollar up here in Canada, that's only $535 Canadian dollars!

I wonder what he would sell the classic Brooklyn Bridge for?
For Canucks - that is an old USA joke for a sham sale.

those are the kind of prices you get from traditional wrecking yards in big cities, and why I do not shop at those places. If the seller thinks what they have is particularly valuable, or you are particularly eager to buy it, the price goes up.

He will likely sit on those prices, many are high even if the parts were new-in-box.

$50 for a rear hatch light? Jesus...

$25 for a factory tie-down/tow bracket?

$100 for the piece of plastic at the bottom of the tailgate the carpet snaps to?

Hes definitely on some of that blue meth.

OK - you beat my battery hold-down!

Apart from how ludicrous is the pricing of these assorted items - what on earth is the seller thinking? I can understand a slight premium on some items, GIVEN knowledge of their desirability, but - these prices for something as mundane as an ashtray or a worn-out battery hold down? Apparently he did no research on these parts. After all, they originated from a T2WD and not a R-R.

BUT U GAIZ THOSE PARTS ARE RARE!!!!1!!1!1

Some people have the weirdest mindset. Sorry, the rarity of your modified Geo Storm doesn't make it valuable; the price the buyers are willing to spend does.
But...did you try hitting it with a hammer?
