Hello, I am new here and new to the T4, but learning a lot so far. I bought my 85' in April and so far I love it, I am curious how many miles some of you have on these things. Mine is getting ready to turn 370,000, it has 60,000 on a rebuilt motor. The guy I bought it from purchased it new and took beyond meticulous care of it, I have a book that came with the car of maintenance records, very single component of the car functions as it should.

If your Tercel truly only has 60 thousand on the motor you've got a good one now the trick is keeping the body and frame work altogether check all your bushings and check your timing belt it does have 60 thousand on it.

I have about 370k on mine, but most of those were hard miles, with several rebuilt engines, and on its third trans (got it with blown trans at 188k miles). currently running well on 2 year old 4ac engine. chassis needs seme welding repairs, welds working loose due to daily rough road driving.

Oldfaithful807341kms original motor came out at 644837kms and original tras. at 505000kms.

tell us about your amazing high mileage ride! where are you located? How did you get that much distance out of it?
I was once stopped in a Costco parking lot by an elderly woman who said she used to have a car just like mine (I was driving a gold/topaz project car I bought for $100 in another state). She was very enthusiastic to see another one, she wanted to tell me that they drove theirs for over 400,000 miles, all original with normal maintenance. I was impressed.

Thanks for sharing guys, it looks like these cars withstand the test of time. I would love to get another 100K out of the one I have, I am doing a lot of work to it now. I will post pics in a few weeks.
