Re: What is your production number?
Paul - guess your car is the newest on the site?
Incidentally, I just found a March, 2009, note from a schoolteacher on some site wanting to sell his '88 - no location - is this your new one?
SOMEwhere I found a production count of over one million - but do not recall the article/link.
While for the worldwide market, I'd think that was a respectable number for the almost six years of its life - guess Toy just wanted to move the Wagon upscale with the Corolla All-Trac?

Re: What is your production number?
My '88 was found on Craigslist from a dealer in Dresden, OH.
From the posts on this thread, it looks like 300K was about the end of production. It would be interesting to know what the total number was, and total by year would be nice to know as well.
I still have my '83, which is one of the oldest on the planet. My wife couldn't understand why I needed another "hoopty" wagon. But there aint nothin' like a Terc wagon, and you better get yours while they still can be found.

Re: What is your production number?
1984 SR5 127606
I sold the '83 so can't look that one up (rats) it was built in May 1983 by my recollection.
Haven't read the whole thread, but has anyone suggested putting the numbers in a data base or excel file so they can be searched? Some clubs for old vehicles try to keep track of survivors this way.

Re: What is your production number?
Right now i'm not willing to do the list in a spreadsheet, but in the future i may.
All it'd be is a simple .xls spreadsheet. List of year and production # along with username on the forums.

Re: What is your production number?
Very Cool! I just added the info for my Tercs. And I found the production number for my beloved (and sold) '83 DLX 058547 in some old documents. Production date was May 1983 if I remember correctly.
Also added a column for mileage/date so we have a sense of how many miles these cars have.

Re: What is your production number?
"MATTEL" was asking if production number that are the total of all tercel OR only 4WD ; the answer is all those number you guys/gals have are 4WD only , here are all the living tercels in my yard
1983 4WD - 0055837
1983 4WD - 0070650
1986 4WD - 0230145 BUT
1985 FWD S.W. is 3,604,185 i double check 3 times so is that mean 3 millionth or 604,185 built.
i check all the number of 4WD in this forum ,lowest are fall of 1982 to 1988 so far (301,129) , 1987 - 88 look like only approx 35,000 built in 2 years not many because there were varies outrageous numbers of SUV made .
1983-1988 4WD total 300,000 includes around the world , 300,000 divid by 6 years = 50,000 per year , that far less than Chevy or Ford produce that dont ship around the world , i thought there would be 1 million 4WD built , guess i was wrong , my guess only reason those cars are still alive for many years because of mighty 3A motor that almost never fail , imagine if toyota decide to put other type motor , 75 % of cars would be gone . well i guess "POWER IS NOT THE ANSWER"

I am looking for information on total production of the 1983-1988 Tercel wagon (AL25). This info would be very helpful to the group of Tercel 4WD enthusiasts at tercel4wd.com. Thanks in advance for any details on this production run.
