Never seen a cargo cover with the indents.

Ours has the indents I think. Ironically we were all excited about having a cargo cover, however we carry so much stuff we had to take it out of the car all the time and I forget to put it back in now.

My cargo cover is flat and i don't use it either it's in the way and to week to set anything on top of

I can see it being useful in the summer to shield stuff in the back from the sun, though.

Oh, it is going to get used, just saying the initial excitement of "It has a cargo cover yaaaay!" turned into the cargo cover being in the garage most of the time
