must be a really despicable pirate to deserve a '62 willys wagon. I used to own a '58 willys panel wagon (also rare), with flat head 4 cyl cast iron engine. and 3 speed crash box trans. indestructible, but ugly and a real handful to drive it.

Get this all you youngsters, the starter motor had no solenoid. It had a very cleaver starter pedal (like a gas pedal on the fire wall). when you pushed it with your foot you mechanically engaged the starter gear via a push rod, into the flywheel, and cranked the engine. If, or when, it started you would lift your foot off the pedal. cleaver, simple, reliable, no solenoid to fail.
