This forum is for cars that run, or at least are close to running. This isn't for parting out complete cars.

that looks like a great deal if you want an auto trans. guy did a crazy valve cover paint job, super clean engine compartment.

Too bad is it a DLX auto trans.

Hey guys, I'm new here and would like to ask for advice about this car.
I have a good daily driver for commuting to work. 1998 Acura CL 4cyl manual with 53k miles
I have a good truck for hauling stuff. 1996 Chevy 2wd with 60k miles

I love to deer hunting and do a lot of it. I always use my truck, and that can be a problem. That thing can get stuck on level (wet) ground. I really need something that will not get stuck. None of the places I hunt requires me to drive anywhere that is really rough, so ground clearance should not be a big issue.

So now I stumble across this car on cl. Kind of low mileage, newly rebuilt engine, 4wd... Unfortunately, it's a 3 speed auto. The guy says it is starving for more fuel / air at higher rpm's, so it would perform better with a Webber carb.

I live in middle TN, so going to look at the car would be easily done.

Considering all this, would this be a good car? Most of the time, it would be used for hunting.

Is there anything about this car that I should be concerned about?

Thanks for your time. I appreciate your advice.

I spoke to the owner the other day. He is a professional mechanic and did all the work on this car. (I'm not sure if he did the valve cover.)

Looks good seems to take take pride in his work which is always a good indicator in my opinion.
Sucks it is an auto, but you could always swap in a manual when the auto dies.

Also, the car is described as a SR5, but I don't think that the auto Trans cars were SR5.

It is a dlx. All sr5s are manual, at least as far as I know.
