Re: 1984 Tercel SR5 in Kansas
For that many miles, and some of the rust I spotted, I'd put her at around $2,500 tops
Why are you selling it though? There has to be more to the story.

there's no harm in trying a higher price to start with. i think it looks clean enough to get that. and if someone can get $3800 for their car, why not?

Because, everyone here, including you, also are price and Tercel critics.

maybe i just don't find his price unreasonable. it looks really clean to me, and 157xxx miles is a lot lower than most of the tercels i've bought and sold, so i think $2500 would be undervaluing it.

Re: 1984 Tercel SR5 in Kansas
I would have happily paid that price for a car in this condition when I was looking for my 2nd Tercel, guess it depends on the right car and the right buyer. I find it interesting that when someone joins the forum and asks "How much should I ask for my car?" the response is along the lines of "we don't give values on cars here". But as soon as someone slaps a price on it there's no shortage of people saying too high, too low, just right... etc. Maybe we should start a thread somewhere with car conditions, miles, options, and prices sold for. It might be handy reference for different parts of the country knowing what they can expect to pay or ask someone else to pay for a car. Just a thought.

@ irowiki:
Rust? I see none.
I'm passing on the CL link to my gson, a soph at KU in Lawrence, in case he knows of someone who might be interested.
He would not be, darnit!
