85 toyota tercel 4wd in ABQ

Hey everyone,I have an 85 tercel sr5 wagon for sale. I got this thing not running and rebuilt the carb, and put another distributor on it. It runs but the compression of cyl 1&2 is non existent. It still starts, and runs, and doesn't smoke, but doesn't have enough power to get out of its own way. I posted before for advice on how to address these issues and I even ordered the parts. But life circumstances have changed and we will be moving to a crowded urban area and I won't have the space or ability to take it with me.
The title isn't in my name, but is signed.
I'm looking for $600 for the car, (new parts) including full gasket set, timing belt, exhaust valves and a junkyard distributor and carb.
It's a cool little car and was going to be our New Mexico mountain/camping rig, but that fairytale will no longer be.

sounds like it needs a head gasket. kind of high for a car that can not be test driven, replacing the head gasket is not that bad a job, you might consider doing that one afternoon and you can get a lot more money for the car.

According to the write up on here, the repair would take me more than an afternoon, regardless I have yet to be able to make time for it.
I was really hoping someone would want a project and keep this thing out of the scrap yard.

It will sell to someone that will fix it if you lower the price. it would be a shame to junk and otherwise good Tercel4wd, there are fewer good examples around every year, and ones with decent bodies are very rare.

I do not have time to take on another project (I have too many right now), or I would consider it.

Or if you let me do a slap dash head gasket job at your place... over a morning or so.

The car will run, but I won't take it beyond the driveway. It's on two cylinders, so hills, speed bumps etc will hinder any significant travel.
I'm open to negotiating price, but 200 seems a bit low considering I have promised 150 in new parts to accompany the car.
I really don't want to crush this car, but moving it 800 or so miles seems a bit exhausting as compared to other options. I hope someone in this community will meet me in the middle, I love the idea of this car, but life has gotten in the way.

Wife and I are discussing it, we had to buy a "new" washer this week, plus the space of four cars already, time, baby, gas there and back.

do not try and drive it that far, you risk much more damage to the engine, and likely be stuck in the middle of nowhere with an expensive tow to get it off the highway. 3 to 4 hours and you will have a new head gasket in it and it will likely make it home.

be prepared to do other repairs as well, more than a few cars I rescued this way (that were not running) turned out to have other issues as well, discovered once it was on the road. Most can wait until you get home of course, but bring enough spares for anything that can leave you stranded. Remember to check the gear oil levels in the trans and diff as well before you head down the hwy in the summer heat.
