My tercel had done it, I fiddled with the carb adjustment screws blindly and it it went away, I just haven't had the time to do it with the FX - still gets around or just under 25MPG highway though.
It takes more fossil fuel resources to produce new vehicles than it would take to maintain and fuel any 70's or 80's vehicle for a million miles.
