'87 SR5 -- JUST ADDED to Pick-n-Pull Portland South, Oregon

Post by garyfish » Thu Jan 11, 2018 11:43 pm

added to the wrecking yard 1/10/2018... looks complete from the one photo posted, but it needs to be checked out ASAP

PLEASE -- somebody in the area should at least grab the composite headlight assemblies which are unique to the 1987-88 T4WD's

If someone local would be willing to grab some parts off that wagon I would be happy to pay for the parts and your time to pull the following:

Front seat covers if in good condition
Double-din AM/FM/Cassette radio
Front seat belts
Adjustable intermittent wiper stalk, if equipped
Composite head lamps
Air cleaner-to-valve-cover mounting hardware

More if I can think of it...

Is the radiator grill specific to '87 models as well?

yes, you can fit them to all model years, but you need the grill, headlight assembly (that includes the headlight mount and alignment rig), and the side marker lights (that also incorporates the trim around the headlight). All that is necessary as I recall is to drill one clearance hole in the mount location, it does not preclude you from returning back to the sealed beam headlight assembly.

I did it on my '84, it has '87 grill/headlight configuration. So, like the John Cash song about the cadilac, it is an '83, 84, 85, 86, 87 Tercel4wd, along with some corrolla, MR2 and other non-tercel parts thrown into the mix.

Also, all the electrical harness connectors are different (both headlight AND side marker.) I just cut 'em out of the donor vehicle and splice 'em into the harness.

Anyone looked at this car yet and know if it's Manual or Auto?

I have a bent rear axle stub shaft and might try to pull this one. I have never attempting such a thing so if anyone ia going to check it out and wants a second set of hands maybe we can tear into it together?

all SR5 wagons have the 6-speed manual tranny

BTW, if you do grab some parts off this vehicle, please try & get the headlight assemblies if they're decent and still available... I'd pay you for your time, parts cost and postage if you do grab them... both of mine on my '87 have holes in the glass that allow water to enter... PM me if you're able to go through with this

grab the parts listed above from the front end that are all specific to this year if you can. I'm sure someone will buy them off you and they are getting hard to find! cheers!

I'm going to stop by this yard on Monday mid-morning. I don't know if i'll have time to pull anything but I hope so! If I get any of the requested items I'll post up here! I'll also take additional photos in case anyone else is considering having a look.

Sorry for the delay. Went out th is morning. Pretty picked through. I was SOL on my axle shaft and TVSV but oh well. One headlight assembly remains but the other is MIA. Odo shows 258k. Someone was kind enough to extract some interior components with brute force instead of tools.

How does that remaining head lamp look? Does the car have the adjustable intermittent wiper controls?
