Spammers and whatnot

So here's the deal that I know so far.

We're getting hit pretty bad by spammers. I dont know how they are signing up. I'm going to try to increase the captcha image standards, that should help.

I do not delete their accounts, I ban them. This ban's the IP they did it from, and the email account they used. I'm going to turn on activation, and do whatever it takes to get the spamming down.

I'll use this thread to keep everyone updated.

Alright, I have updated the registration settings.

You now have to verify your membership upon signing up. This is done with a simple email that you click a link inside of.

The other is an INCREDIBLY difficult Captcha image. This is where it asks you to input the letters from the image. I have so much foreground and background noise in it that it took me 3 tries to get it right. I'm going to work on this to tune it better, but for now this is how it's staying.

Also, if you see a spammer, USE THE REPORT BUTTON. It's the little ! next to edit, quote, and whatnot.
