Re: anyone ever mount speakers in the front doors?

i'm afraid arb is right. just took a look to confirm it and there is no room for them. i did this particular job on my wife's toyota pickup since it only had stock 4" speakers in the dash--weak. the cardboard door panels are fine for mounting speaks though, no issues there. if the map holder th...

Re: Dairy Queen Car On eBay - '85 SR5 - Irvine CA

i'd bet a dozen donuts that's not CGI. even the highest quality CGI is smoother than real life, more cartoon-y, and easily recognizable. even if DQ invested in top quality CGI it would still be obvious. as it is i doubt the car was filled with water, more likely they filled a storage tank with a qui...

Re: where to visit in WA and OR this summer?

Lots of fire roads and a good driver in a t4wd should be able to deal with most of it. i'm afraid we'll be making the trek in the westfalia. i'm just about finished fixing up the fridge, sink, and various other details. it'll be slow going and there will be absolutely no off-roading going on in tha...

Re: Dairy Queen Car On eBay - '85 SR5 - Irvine CA

looks very nice. i wonder what happened after they flooded the car in the commercial--if they didn't remove the carpet and seats, dry them, and replace the underlay it would surely reek of mold. i LOVE the rear hatch with the horizontal stripe!

Re: Roadwolf: the Legacy

a compression rating of approx 145 psi throughout is ok but if i were you i would keep looking until i found one in better shape. tearing an engine apart is a lot of work and like you've illustrated, everything adds up. if you can find one with higher, even compression i would take it and just do th...

Re: Pics of Red

wowee, that's nice and shiny. i love the white wheels. why do you call it red when it's blue, and what's wrong with the rear end? the hatch looks fine from here.

interesting roof racks, i've never seen that kind before.

where to visit in WA and OR this summer?

i'm planning our trip down to burning man and figured i should ask here about worthwhile camping spots and sights to see en route. as of right now, all we have planned is to leave home on vancouver island on saturday, august 20th, take the noon ferry from victoria to anacortes, drop off some wheels ...

Re: tire size, speedo/odo adjustment, and fuel economy

the mile/km markers are on the sides of the highway and are posted every mile/km. what petros and takza are suggesting is taking note the next time you drive on a hwy of your mile/km when you pass one and then checking again when you pass, say, a tenth marker. so if your odo is at 100.0 miles when y...

Re: tire size, speedo/odo adjustment, and fuel economy

just finished a tank of gas and calculated my mileage taking the tire size into account. came to 12.9 km/L, or 30.3 miles/gallon, and that's mainly made up of short 6.5 km trips to work and back so i'm pretty pleased. like some peeps, i've had one or two mysterious tanks that got as much as 35 miles...

totally not what you're talking about here but i just read your signature thing and wanted to tell you that my wife and i went and saw the theater production of 'wicked,' which is the story of the wizard of oz from the bad witch's perspective and it was AMAZING. i've never had any interest in theate...
