Yeah, sorry 'bout the thread hi-jacking. I don't usually discuss personal points of view in regards to any "hot button" issues, but when I do, it all comes pouring out. No 2 people can ever fully agree on anything, no matter how similar their views may be, because everyone interprets every...

Man o' man! The Navy certainly has changed, hasn't it? I went to mast for having an empty beer can in my barracks room and got 45/45 1/2pay for 2 months. Never had any other discilpine issues before that. Afterward, I associated with some of the wrong people and they tried busting me for drug use. P...

Steering Stiffness

My steering seems to have developed some stiff spots. I turn the wheel (moving or still) and the wheel really doesn't want to turn, then it turns really quick and then doesn't want to straighten (correct itself) out when I let it go. Any thoughts before I tear into it? It's not power steering.

The portland area just got about 4" of snow and ice and I'm stuck in Arizona for work this week......

My fiancee actually said that she's wishing my Turkle wasn't parked at the airport 'cause her tacoma 4x4 isn't doing as well on the roads....

If you do decide to undertake that lift project, keep in mind that Jeep Cherokee's are a unibody. A very common problem offroad is a lifted cherokee cracking welds. I highly doubt that the tercel's welds would be stronger. Unibody re-inforcement may be necessary.

I know it's short notice, but my 4WD group is headed up to Mt Defiance this weekend. If any PDX area Terc's want to come you're more than welcome. There will be enough big guys around to pull out anyone who gets stuck. I'll have my Jeep there, but I may just bring both rigs (let the fiancee drive th...

My vote would be for making the pickup frame work for the terc bosy as you could in theory have a complete rolling/driving chassis and just have to mount a body to it. Also, you would need the "tunnel" room for the bigger/longer tranny and t-case. A sammy, an older jeep maybe...... Heck, a...

Wanted a 4AC swap but have emissions here in the portland area. ORegon is the 2nd strictest in the nation after california. They'd never allow a weber.... Anyhoo, I have the procedure to check out the TVSV, just never seem to have the time. Oh well.....

Looks good, Thanks!!! I think I may have a bad TVSV. I haven't checked it yet, but it would explain the hesitation/stumble under load. It feels intermittantly like losing a sparkplug but I have pulled all the plugs numerous times and none are fouled. I have replaced the carb with a Holley Reman and ...

If the timing belt jumped a gear it will definitely run like crap if it runs at all. I also have an 83 SR5 and my vacuum lines do not run like any in the online 85 FSM. I do have the sticker still on the underside of my hood, though. The hard part is deciphering which line goes where on the actual m...
