Re: Heel Toe and Rev Matching

Id say I use heel and toe every time I drive. Its quite fun and makes the car feel sportier then it is. Id say 90% of my downshifts use double clutching with rev matching with the rest at least just a rev match. Id rather swap out the clutch then hurt my poor trans. When cold, I cant shift from 1st ...

Re: Need transmission help

Well...hopefully its just a shifter fork issue. Have you drained the trans from all three drain holes yet and looked for metal shavings?

Also, how are you with turning a wrench?

Re: long travel suspension ?

I dont know if its worth the effort, but the 1rst gen MR2 rear lower control arms are 3mm longer then the tercel front control arms. Other then that, they are IDENTICAL. I know its not long travel worthy, but Its something I found today. Oh, petros, i know what you're talking about. I think he enter...

Re: I bought another one! I shall call her MINT and she'll be FRESH

I posted some videos in the general section. In the first video you can see how fast the manual steering can really turn and why I love it so much.

Some snow vids.

For those of you that arent on the facebook page, I thought Id post the videos of the 83 doing what she does best. Tearing it up in the snow and sliding around roundabouts. Yall have probably seen the thumbnails in my build thread. You can really see how quick the manual steering can be. https://www...

Re: I bought another one! I shall call her MINT and she'll be FRESH

I havent driven it down any gravel roads yet, but Ive never had a problem with my 83's wheel being ripped from my hands and I practically rally it down the gravel roads around here. Its always steered easily with no problem, and i can even "flick" it when offroad. I dont think Ill be disab...

Re: I bought another one! I shall call her MINT and she'll be FRESH

Oh I know mark, thats why shes not gonna move again till I go to the dealer and get the right fluid. I know it cost more, but dealer fluid stopped the slipping in my cressida trans. Not saying the tercels trans is slipping, hopefully it never does. But thats good to know about the hard parts and the...

Re: any slammed, stanced, or lowered Tercel Wagons?

Professor, There shouldnt be any force pulling on the sdiewall because of air pressure. When the tire hits a bump, air pressure increases for a second forcing the bead tighter against the rim. If it was seriously stretched, it might be enough to un seal the bead at the point of impact, but his tires...

Re: I bought another one! I shall call her MINT and she'll be FRESH

Ill have to go through my manuals and see what I can find about it. There's an automatic trans in the back of a wagon at my favorite yard. Ill have to buy it, tear it apart and figure it out then. On the few little runs around the neighborhood that Ive taken, Ive found that the trans DOES shift into...

Re: any slammed, stanced, or lowered Tercel Wagons?

Clearly you didn't read my post, or anyone elses. Lowering can be good, many people have stated that. Stancing is never good. What's the point of having a wagon you can't load with stuff? Even if you want it to look great, why lower it to such a low static height that it becomes impractical? The wa...

Mission accepted, Archinstl . Ill find em. Just give me time. I had actually decided that I was actually...

Re: any slammed, stanced, or lowered Tercel Wagons?

I think its cause Matts had a 4age in it, which kinda trumps any negativity there, and littlered mentioned putting the lift back on before any of the more vocal naysayers showed up.

I bought another one! I shall call her MINT and she'll be FRESH

A few weeks ago, I made a trip into the blue ridge mountains. The trip was a nightmare. 23* No heat in the truck, gps got us lost going down "roads" that werent wide enough for 2 cars. Then after getting the car, got lost again, ended up 100 miles south of where we should have been...both ...
