Re: Converting an auto trans to a stick shift - its possible!
All you gotta do is install the front half of the driveshaft, and you're good to go! (Trust me, I've done it.)

Re: Dies after high speed and/or prolonged run time.
I agree with dlb- don't think it's vapor lock. I've posted here before on how to diagnose your problem- I'd provide a link, but can't (too stupid!) Just do a search on "aux fuel tank" and it'll come up. Good Luck!

Re: stock radio removal?
David- First of all, that's not a stock Toyota radio as is evidenced by the "Realistic" script on it's faceplate. To remove a factory radio, you need to remove the 4 screws that hold the tan radio surround trim and then remove the radio support brackets. My guess is to remove your radio yo...

Re: 1988 Tercel DX Sedan 4D for sale (needs engine)
Just a FYI- this car is an "88 4wd wagon with an automatic trans and what appears to be 138K on the odometer. Can't believe you're not gonna fix the engine! If only it wasn't on the other side of the country from me... ( I'm in Baltimore, MD.)

Re: I Need A Rear Diff
Not on our cars- all you gotta do is pull the axle shafts, disconnect the driveshaft, and remove the 8-10 bolts (or nuts- I can't remember which) and the whole "pumpkin" comes out. All the shims, crush washers, etc. remain un disturbed in said "pumpkin." Easy-peasy- just like an ...

Re: 85 wagon, not running, $450 near Salem, Oregon
I got the twin to this car about a year ago- only mine was free and only had 82K on the clock. Car sat for 12 years and would completely clog a new fuel filter after driving 15-20 miles. Replaced the rotten fuel tank ( thanks Rock Auto), and it's been fine since.

Re: Rear pinion seal and bearing?
I've replaced a few rear pinion seals (never a bearing.) I get the driveshaft out of the way, mark EVERYTHING by the flange (flange, nut, and pinion shaft) count the number of turns it takes to remove the nut, pop out the old seal and install the new one. Then put the flange back in the same positio...

Or just connect the dimmer wires together, thereby bypassing the dimmer and the lights should be full bright.
