Re: New Tercel 4WD Owner in Washington State
First off, I thought that my power steering was low on fluid or something but now I'm thinking I just don't have power steering? Is that common on the DLX's? I googled and searched the forum but I couldn't find a good diagram of where the PS fill/reservoir is and I darn sure couldn't find it in my ...

Re: WTB- '83 or '84 Tercel SR5 New England, solid shell, doesnt need to run.
Here are the two photos I've got lying around at the moment. The interior is quite clean, too. There is a dent in the back hatch and a few paint corrections that I expect to have sorted out at a local bodyshop at some point in the spring, when the snow clears away. I've requested him to make it &quo...

I have a 1986 SR5 that I drove from Sedona, AZ (where it had spent the past many years in the hands of a paleontologist/archeologist, and had even ferried dinosaur bones around) to Maine, where I live. It has absolutely zero rust and 143,xxx miles at the moment. I had it covered with a rust-proof un...

Re: Tucker has a new home
Try 1st gen MR2 wheels--the triangle design. They fit right onto the Tercel, but you need different lugnuts. Something like these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-1989-Toyota-Mr2-Triangle-Wheels-Set-of-4-/233006035726?oid=232967741074 I paid less than $200 for the ones on my Tercel, including shipping...

Do you have a non-leaking power steering pump?

Re: Parting out 1986 2WD Wagon
I'd love some interior parts if you're willing to...part...with them. Specifically, a front seat bottom (as long as you've got the same brown and tan diagonal stripey interior as I've got), and the plastic driver's side A-pillar trim. There are probably a few other things I'm not thinking about, but...

Re: 1986 Tercel SR5 4wd $3,750
Hi there, nice Tercel! I'm wondering if you'd be interested in selling me a seat bottom for my driver's seat--we've got the exact same interior as each other (brown and tan with diagonal stripes), and pretty much the only issue in my interior is a massive tear in the driver's seat bottom. I'd be wil...

Re: ISO Radio/Cassette Player
I've been looking for a new-old headunit as well, lately, but am putting off a purchase at the moment until I replace a few speakers.
Check these out--they might be right up your alley.

Re: 1983 Toyota Tercel 4WD SR5 : Life in Pictures / Lost & Found: RESTORATION DOCUMENTED!
Hi Bryan-- I'm highly impressed with what you're doing here! I'm in the process of cleaning up (on a much smaller, less thorough scale) my own '86 SR5. It's got a brown interior, and while I've been thinking about having the whole thing reupholstered in a custom sort of plaid, I'm also thinking abou...

Re: Windshield and door trim removal
Ah, very helpful. Wouldn't be a problem to mask off and paint right on the car, but I'd rather remove it just for my own peace of mind. If anyone is curious, I found that I got incredible results by wetsanding my bumper with 600 grit, and then applying this Turtle Wax plastic trim restorer stuff--it...

Windshield and door trim removal
Hi Everyone-- Like so many of you guys, I've got an SR5 that originally came with black trim surrounding the windshield and on the gutters where you'd attach a roof rack, but the finish on the trim is peeling in a bad way, exposing shiny metal that scratches incredibly easily. I'd like to know the b...

WTB Trailer hitch
Looking for a trailer hitch for my ‘86 SR5. I’m in the mood to buy a motorcycle, and need to be able to tow it home. Is there a specific part and part number that works well in the aftermarket? Or does anyone here have a spare one lying around?
