Re: Wringer

At least it will be pretty when it ends your life, if it flips you.dlb wrote:thanks again for all the compliments, gang. i'll try to post pics of camping with this thing when we get back. if it doesn't flip us at highway speeds and kill us, of course.

Re: Wringer
I've been planning to wire up the electric fuel pump so that a relay switches it on when the key is in the ON position, then later do the low-oil-pressure killswitch. Currently waiting on a fuel regulator before I embark on that.

Re: Zach's 1985 Toyota Tercel DLX Hatchback
4age swap? (kidding, kidding) :( I wish. I think if I went that big, I'd rather have a transmission that can handle it without hearing it cry out to its creator for mercy, so it would probably have to be a transverse mount. Not sure if the '85's bay can do that. I still need to replace the steering...

How is the electric one different from the points-type?Mark wrote:I assumed the points-type distributor might have been an issue, but I replaced it with an electronic one with no difference. I'm hoping the switch to timing advance at idle might make a difference.

Your fabrication is, as usual, so awesome I'm disgusted with envy.

Re: Broke the hood release cable
I talked Zach into getting locking hood pins since the release is so easy to remove with the hood shut. I don't think most people would know that, but in my area it's not unusual for someone to steal old batteries and it is really inconvenient if they cut the cables to take it as well.

Broke the hood release cable
 Well, I was having issues with the release cable not actuating the hood latch. I checked the motion of the lever that the cable pulls on to release the hood, and nothing is wrong there. I'm not sure what was wrong with it before I made part of it rip, but anywho, the cable seems to be ruined....
