I can see that with a thermostat that had been good when it went into storage. ColtArms, was you Honda coming out of a period of non use too? No, I had been driving it regularly. That was when I was a teen in Northern NH, and it tended to get pretty cold there..... The car had about 180k on it and ...

Ok, there are definitely enough people in the PNW for a little get-together. How about breakfast/lunch somewhere? Probably not downtown Portland as parking sucks, but Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, Vancouver, Gresham, etc should work fine. If some nasty dirt roads are more of what you want, I know so...

As for thermostats, they tend to stick open, rarely stick closed. I've heard rumors of them sticking closed, but I have never seen one or know anyone who has personally seen one stick closed. I'm sure someone will post here that has, now that I've made that statement. ALLOW ME!!! I had an 85 accord...

Well, I flushed the beejeezus out of the system. That engine block drain is pretty messy. I then pulled the thermostat and found that it was stuck open. There was no black residue in the coolant. No oil residue either ;) Just the normal offwhite scale residue in the reservoir and in the radiator. I ...

Thanks for your input on the thermostat, noted. Time to check it out I guess. As to the issue of propylene compatibility, ethylene is much more toxic and corrosive than propylene. I have been google searching this for about an hour now and found that all roads lead to propylene being fine, but that ...

Thermostat Question

My temp gauge hardly ever goes above the line for cold. The only times I've ever seen it come up to "warm" is on a really really really really hot day (like 98deg-ish) or when the car is idling in my garage for 20min. It also seems to have an issue with the heater, as in the heater doean't...

Which vacuum line does the guage hook up to? How did your adjustment differ (in the number of turns) from the FSM or from the Alldata spec that Typrus provided? The FSM calls for turning the screw all the way in (being careful not to over-turn and damage it) and then to back it out 3.25 turns. There...

I think I have the same stumble. I have replaced all the vacuum line I can get to, all the check valves, rebuilt the carb, replaced the PCV valve, replaced the intake/exhaust manifold gasket, replaced the headpipe gasket, replaced the entire IIA unit along with a new cap and rotor and Belden wires a...

I replaced my drivers side shaft a while back with a Napa rebuild.....it's clunking again. I remember that there were a few posts regarding the life expectancy of the rebuilt axles from the different vendors. I did a couple searches and only found that most people had issues of repeaded failures wit...

Just FYI to anyone, HUGE difference with the air cleaner on. Probably 1&1/2 to 2 full turns on the mixture screw. Also, disconnecting the TVSV port 2 is the same as disconnecting the top EGR hose.

I just attempted to "tune" my Holley Carb. I am a little foggy on the part of the Idle Mixture adjustment where it says to keep adjusting the idle mixture screw and the idle speed screw till it won't idle any higher. What I did was turn the mixture screw, then use the speed screw to put it...
