They are supposed to be 100% new units. Put mine to a better test today. Did an all out attack on an uphill cloverleaf and the only bad sounds were the tires at their limit and no vibes. Naturally overall performance has also increased with the smoother joints. Might even get some mileage in my case.

Pics posted!

The price from rock auto was too good for me to resist(58 shipped). Ordered 4:30 yesterday, got it by 3:00 today(impressive!). Just did the drivers side temporarily on the parts car. I have felt the silk! Of course I was going from a shaft that throbbed at the slightest bit of torque, especially tur...

Sorry. No parts for sale at this time. I'm a serious pack rat and am not ready to part with any of my pile yet. The seats are likely headed for my 69 bronco if I ever get it rolling again. Thanks dcn for the cleaning offer, but I think I'll let the wife do it! She's going to be the lucky recipient o...

nice find. You need to get DCN down there for a touch up. I can't believe the condition of Splatterdog mobile. It's probably down to half a normal weight. Maybe you need to put some knoblies on it and take it for a good hoon send off. it's better to burn out than fade away I know Mickey-d's old car...

Oh yes

The more I look the more I'm smiling. The best way to describe the level of underbody rust is, The exhaust is still the original welded system with only a finger size hole in the muffler at its lowest spot and no missing/rattling or even kinda crappy looking heat shields and hangers. This is quite p...

I bought a car for my parts car!

Today is a good day. Got a Colorado and Oregon car with minimal rust only 10 miles from home in the heart of the rust belt. Just one car, that spent most of its years in two of the more prominent tercel preservation zones. $200 after I counter offered myself 100 more needlessly. I couldn't help it. ...

The only time I have seen it on mine or other toy's of the same era was always the alternator. Can't explain the brake light. Never gave it a second thought first several alt's. Come's time for mine and I just have to figure it out. I don't know how long I stared at the wiring diagrams. I couldn't t...

I'm afraid the oil trick will only work if you do it before it starts to bind. By then those rollers inside have turned into rusty metal bushings. My joint was my biggest oil leak on the car for a while! I got lucky. Even buying the lower joint then it's column a week later was only $35 total. Only ...

Your steering stick may be a shot lower u-joint in the steering shaft. Just went thru this on my 84. Not long ago it developed a bind/release that hit at the same spot in wheel position. U-joint rollers stopped rolling. Eventually they crumbled to dust and allowed some free play in the wheel. Figure...

That's great! My first wagon was a 72 country squire with a very potent 429. At the time I was in vo-tech and they threw away 2 dumpsters full of donated oddball ford parts. one of my many scavengings was some rolls of about 5 inch wide OE quality woodgrain sticker material. So of course the stripes...

No smoke anymore

I don't know if it's the carb or the pcv mod, but just like the 84, start up is smoke free now. Both had smoke that would indicate weak valve guides/seals(blue) before each received it's weber.

Well I did mess with it when I flushed it and yes it does leak now. Only a drop once in a while. So slow i wouldn't have known if I hadn't actually seen a droplet fall while doing this job. The bit of tree hugger in me has me thinking on hooking up the evap system. Low on the list though. Timing bel...

Weberiffic! My latest install.

Finished up last night on the 86. I love it when things start right up AND run good. Went a little different way on this one. I went with a holley regulator on the fender. My 84 has one of those dial regulators zip tied to the brake booster hose like I have seen others do. I blew the first one in 90...
