Re: gas tank pad

so whats the generic gas tank cushion? some kind of foam? that goes on top of the tank and below the body. toyota obsoleted it and i do not know what to look for in generic terms. It is a rubber sheet. I reused mine when I did my tank, but if I were to replace it I would go to a home improvement st...

Re: Hi there from here in wisconsin

how does the filler neck cap holder come off? The filler neck comes off by removing the 6 or so bolts around the base of it. If you're talking about the big chunk of metal around the top of the filler neck that seals with the body of the car... well I just had that same dilemma. As far as I know it...

I don't suppose you would be wanting to save the front fenders, would you? If they really are rust free, my tercel is the same colour...

Re: Fixing Up Jenny

As the road salt washes away, it is time to wake Jenny from her winter slumber. First order of business was to replace the leaking gas tank with a slightly used unit from my parts car. It looks a bit rough at first, but the wire wheel revealed that it is solid metal throughout. I painted it with bru...

Re: New here. Need help. Need a trans.

New to this Tercel endeavor. I acquired an 83 Sr5 wagon with the 6 speed 4wd trans. We own a repair shop in Crestview Florida and had a traveling customer leave the car and title with us. It has some transmission issues, ( hard to shift) won’t go into neutral. Out the $1000’s a month we pay for rep...

I have a simple butane torch. Would that enough if I heat with it?
Any sort of pre-heat will aid in penetration, as well as chase moisture out of the joint. I think you'll be good.

Re: How to Replace a Head Gasket: Petros method

Perfect. Thank you. I have 2 3a motors I am building now, and have a 4a I hope to finish first. I realize that the 4a gasket (ITM brand) has a hole for the coolant between all the cylinders on the opposite side of where the added holes would go, and the OEM Toyota 3a gasket has none. Should the 4a ...
