Re: Car Cover for the Tercel
I use heavy duty trash bags, one duct taped over the windshield and two more secured between the DS body and doors, making sure the door handles are covered up. Granted, we in STL do not receive the depth of snow you receive, but we do get rain/freezing rain (like several times since last week). Our...

Re: 1985 4WD Deluxe
Hey, Welcome fellow Missourian! Where/when did you buy the T4WD? There was someone on here in January of 2018, offering 3 T4WDs. He claimed he lived in Carter County off US 60, deep in one segment of the Mark Twain National Forest. He never followed up on the results of his For Sale email. https://t...

Re: Indian UTV Willies Jeep Clones?
Pretty cheap, and in stock at several St. Louis dealers, so I presume available all over North America? https://www.stlouispowersports.com/search/inventory/brand/Mahindra/type/Side%20x%20Side/class/ROXOR/availability/In%20Stock I presume "off-road only" because of no safety features, etc.?...

Welcome! Or perhaps I should write Bienvenue?
Beautiful car - your gpaw took remarkable care of it! What is the mileage?
What is that sorta-blue rectangular device below the middle of the rear bumper?

Welcome! Do you have a link to the car's ad (or info on it from the seller)? ► What splatterdog wrote, esp. on the front arms! Not to be an alarmist , but that is about the only Achilles Heel of our cars. 'Course, the rear is not unimportant! See ESP https://tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&am...

Thanks, Peter; I could not find that photo - just a "generic" Fail-Safe image.
Looks I will be ordering the Kuzeh in a couple of months as a backup.

Re: tt4wd runs to cool
HA, Peter! I just checked the Stant SuperStat #45758 I just removed, and it has little wussy springs like the Gates you posted!
I wonder the thickness of the springs on the Fail-Safe #7214 that replaced the above?

splatterdog mentioned Kuzeh as OE t-stat supplier, so I checked Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Kuzeh-W0133-1635537-KUZ-Thermostat/dp/B001FS2QBM/ref=au_as_r?_encoding=UTF8&Make=Toyota%7C76&Model=Tercel%7C1031&Year=1986%7C1986&ie=UTF8&n=15684181&newVehicle=1&s=automotive&a...

Re: tt4wd runs to cool
I've used both Stant and the Toy brand in the past and just now a FailSafe (the latter was all I could find at AZ: ADV, O'R, or any Toy dealers in STL did not have anything in stock for a T4WD and I needed it now )! We shall see, as I was hesitant, given opinions here over the years, but I needed it...

Re: Safety Concern
@ wminman - I think the key for a parent here is the consideration of the most important part of your life - namely, your children. The T4WD that we all love and care about is, simply stating, lacking in safety features for today's driving (encounters with large p'ups and SUVs of any shape/visibili...

Re: Photocell for Headlights?
Well - when headlights have been needed in any of my vehicles during the daytime (rain/fog/etc.), for decades I've simply used a card stating " Headlights on! " that I place over the instrument cluster. I learned that many decades ago with my first car, a '46 Ford V8 'vert (after forgettin...
