Re: Toyota is making an updated Tercel 4wd!
Interesting that they compare this to the Mitsubishi Delica. I have a 1995 Delica and I can say that the delica has a place in my heart right next to the tercel. It really is a great vehicle! It is much more of a vehicle than the tercel in many ways. It's high clearance and stance is awesome! When I...

Re: The mother load of new and used parts. MUST LOOK. 6X6
I'm in dire need of a transmission! I have no first gear and would really appreciate a working transmission. I'm in Canmore, Alberta and was already planning a trip to Bremerton WA to get one. I'd gladly shave off some driving. And I'd be willing to grab the parts that Marlinh was asking for and get...

Re: What Do Other People in My Situation Do?
This is a good tip. I've used Rockauto many times and it's a great source for parts. I just received a Motorad high temp thermostat for my tercel (part # MTO2014-192). The details of the part description indicate it has a jiggle valve (that little hole with a jiggly metal thing in it). The one that ...

Re: Mitsubishi Delica Diesel PCV question
Yeah, I know about that. When I had it serviced recently & there did the valve cover gasket, they did not te-connect the pcv hose and it made a small mess in the engine bay. Some extra rust protection for that area, I guess.

Re: Mitsubishi Delica Diesel PCV question
Yeah, I'm going to find out exactly how they plumb in the PCV and I'm going to improvise a catch can and then I can see how much oil builds up. It will be cool to see if it's only a little bit and if it changes over time. I will report back here with more info when I get it sorted out. Thanks everyo...

Re: Mitsubishi Delica Diesel PCV question
That's why I am considering a catch can. So I can see how much oil is coming through the PCV. I'm also curious if the blow by gasses are mostly fuel vapors or exhaust gas. Or both? My delica has 165000 km and I've been doing oil changes every 5000km since I got it with only 70000km on it. It's been ...

Re: Mitsubishi Delica Diesel PCV question
Thanks for the info. I knew that folks on here would be knowledgable and helpful. No word from delica.ca yet. Just to clarify, it has been piped from the PCV to underneath the car and vents to atmosphere. I'm keen to set it up properly and I want to make sure I do it right so as not to foul up the i...

Mitsubishi Delica Diesel PCV question
So I have a 1995 Mitsubishi Delica 2.8 turbo diesel and I have a question about the PCV venting to atmosphere. All you Americans may well be scratching your heads and the handful of Canadian from the west coast likely know what this vehicle actually is. FYI, it's a JDM right hand drive import that y...

Re: Usefull Info
I got Moog springs for the front on my last tercel. The top caps of the strut (that hold the strut cartridge) ended up popping off (for the reason stated by Petros above). And eventually the springs cracked. Overall I was not impressed. Last time I looked, they were not available any more. I had lif...

Re: Exterior Trim Pieces wanted
I pulled most of my trim off recently (only to reveal some godawful rust patches!). I chucked them out, but I might not have pulled the small pieces at the back. I can send them to you if you want to pay shipping. I'm in Canada, so let me know. You may well find some closer to you.

Re: looking for a T4wd manual transmission in Canmore, Alberta, Canada
At first I could hold it in first and that worked. But now it kicks out and grinds gears if I'm trying to force it to stay in first.
Not sure if that indicates that it's the bearings or shift detent ro something else.
I could try atf and see...

looking for a T4wd manual transmission in Canmore, Alberta, Canada
My transmission keeps popping out of first and I'm looking for a new transmission. I'm hoping I can find one in Alberta or maybe in the Kootenays in B.C. So far I have an offer to ship one to a US address from new york but that's $850 (US). If anyone can help me out I'd be stoked to be able to get m...

Re: Transmission reminder.
Thanks for the info. My tercel just rolled over 300K miles on a road trip to the Kootenays in BC. It's a US import so miles on the odo. The transmission was rebuilt about 60k miles ago. It's gotten pretty bad for popping out of first gear and also did it in 3rd (once going up a pass at 3k rpm in 3rd...

Re: Extend Your Seat!
Great work! Thanks for the comprehensive repair guide. I've wanted to modify my seats but I've wanted to lower the seat. I'm 6'1 and I always tilt the seat way back so that my eyeballs are not at such a high vantage point and so that I have a bit more space. But the leg extension thing is interestin...

Re: Transmission reminder.
A couple of transmission questions... 1. Why does it sometimes pop out of first? I've heard people mention that on here and my first Tercel never did that. My current one with a rebuilt transmission sometimes pops out of first. Should I be concerned or take any action? 2. The strangest thing happene...
