Re: Toyota left behind after a volcanic eruption

Has an inclinometer, that so many T4 owners want, too.

Re: 3A-C fed runablity issues

Before I dig into the carb, I figured I'd post here since I'm wasting time and a bit stumped. Any thoughts? I swapped an engine that had been sitting for awhile, into mine, and experienced the same kind of issue. Turned out that the stock carb jets were clogged by varnish or gunk from sitting. Clea...

Re: Orientation of the lower control arm bushing?

Whether rubber collar of the bushing directed towards front or back? These photos are for a 1985 4WD SR5 Wagon but they may help answer your question: ~ Lower_Arm_Left.jpg Left control arm - back view ~ Lower_Arm_Left_Bushing_1.jpg Left arm bushing close-up back view ~ Lower_Arm_Left_Bushing_2.jpg ...

Re: 86 SR5 4x4 Wagon

I have a 86 SR5 4x4 Wagon currently. I need a new alternator and I cannot find a used one. Hey Sami, I have this one available, right here on this forum, though it is from a 1985 Tercel 4WD SR5, not a 1986. https://tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=15308 Where are you located? What seems...

Re: 1985 Toyota Tercel SR5 4x4 Wagon Parts

I’d love to grab the alternator steering rack? I do not know if the original poster or that SR5 are available. However, I am offering an alternator from an SR5 wagon, with a built-in regulator: https://tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=15308 I also have a power steering rack but I believ...

Re: Pacific NW wrecking yards

I think there is one in the Arlington yard right now. I know of a few people that have their own private collection of Tercel4wd parts cars, This may be the link to the one in Arlington, WA: https://www.picknpull.com/vehicle_details.aspx?VIN=JT2AL35W6E0086912 I am selling off my "private colle...

Re: I'm new to diy mechanics. pls help me identify this sound

My car experience is limited ... not until this car did I decided I wanted to start taking things apart and learning how to fix. You apparently have the willingness and aptitude and a Tercel is a great (and forgiving) car for learning this stuff. Did you get the radiator cooling fan working properl...

That is just too wild, man! Awesome, practical, and fun all at the same time. What an incredibly creative idea and it looks quite cozy, too.

I'm looking for a front passenger side wiper arm I'm also looking for a Front driver's side window regulator. Hi, I'm in Pennsylvania, not Canada, but, if you cannot find what you need there, I have these wiper arms available, from a 1985 Tercel SR5 4WD wagon. ~ Wiper_Front_Arms.jpg ~ I have/had so...

Re: Rear dome lens part number

Thank goodness, Toyota used the same part(s) on several models for several years.

I found it strange how they referred to the dome lights as "room lamps":

Lens, Room Lamp, NO.2, 81251-14030

Re: 1983 Tercel 4WD SR5 Wagon | Overland Build

Finally got around to finishing up V.1 of my Tercel Battery Clamp Down Bracket after settling on a car battery (Group 34) Originally I wanted to keep it OEM but every single bracket I found at the scrapyard was rusted to hell and to my knowledge Toyota doesn't carry them anymore. Here is a battery ...

Re: Gears does not engage after some time on running

Even if I just put foot on the pedal with a minimum force it disengages and power decreases. I need to fully get out the foot to supply the full power to the wheels. My guess is that the clutch disc and the pressure plate are worn out. Heat build up from driving the car likely causes the clutch dis...

Re: Gears does not engage after some time on running

Toyota Tercel 1987 4WD 1452CC DX Wagon. It seems due to that engine is still connected. Clutch is engaged. Let me see if I understand this issue. You can drive your car and shift gears normally, for about 15 minutes. Then the clutch will not disengage and allow you to shift gears, without grinding....
