addenum- i also replaced the crankshaft gear that drives the timing belt- it was wasted too- made setting the ingition timing impossible.

can't believe anyone would pass up a clean t4wd for a bad balljoint! bring it to me- i' swap it out in 20 mins! all you have to do is put a load on the tapered pin and smack the control arm with a hammer. just wish i could find a car like that for sale here in MD. I NEED A CLEAN RUST- FREE BODY.

"running rich" is when you're getting too much fuel for the amount of air supplied to the engine. what you're experiencing is elevated idle speed. could be a sticking choke plate or fast idle cam or a myriad of other possibilities.

petros- had the same condensation problem with my '88 three years ago. i removed the lights,dried out the water [tissues, followed by compressed air] cleaned the seam between the lens and main body and then ran a bead of marine 5200 sealant completely around the seam. MUCH more durable than silicone...

petros i assume your 240d had the high- mount york a/c compressor. best way i found to fill the cooling system was to remove the t- stat, fill the block and head, reinstall stat, open the bleeder above it and burp the air out. you're right, they are tanks [although as a friend of mine once said &quo...

addendum to my latest post. problem with soldering- both surfaces must be VERY clean-almost impossible to do reliably without tank removal [just ask any plumber]
