Re: Automatic fuel pump?
i think electric pumps are designed to push rather than suck--- should be mounted as close to the tank as possible.

Re: WTB Axle Hub '85 2WD 4 door
2wd and 4wd hub ass'ys are the same (i've swapped them before.) first gen tercels are completely different (rotors mount to the BACK side of the hub- i've always hated that.) good luck!

Re: Help needed!!
4af is completly different from the 3ac fitted in our cars (i assume your engine is installed longitudnally rather than transverse.) if so, a 4ac from a corolla or chev. nova is pretty much a bolt- in affair. just have to swap intakes and accessory brackets (should be plenty of threads here with par...

went to an auction the subaru importer held in '70's with a friend. we were going to roll one over to see what it looked like underneath. didn't tho (prolly a good thing.) a single buyer bought 'em all. some time later, i saw a 360 sedan with air cooled VW drivetrain and rear suspension- can you say...

Re: Rebirth after 300K
Synth- still want the crunched fender (or at least part of it- costs too much to ship the whole thing cross- country.) i just need the wheel opening part, took a pic of what i'm talking about- now just have to figure out how to post it. do you have access to an angle grinder?? thanx, Rich.

Re: noisy speedometer in very cold weather
if you're thinking of replacing the speedo, i'd consider swapping out the whole cluster with an sr5 unit. strictlly a plug and play operation, and you'll gain a tach and digital clock in the deal! just my .02.

Re: carbs 101 - pooling gas?
with the engine off, opening the throttle actuates the accelerator pump on the primary side (causing the squirt of fuel you see.) don't think the secondary side has an accelerator pump, hence no squirt.
